Depending on how you use Kook Board, we may process the following categories of information:

• Account data — when you create or sign in to an account, we collect and process data needed for authentication. This includes, for example, your email address and unique user identifiers (such as user IDs assigned within our systems and Supabase) so we can verify your identity, link your profile to your content, and keep your account secure.
• Content you provide — including recipes, ingredients, instructions, notes, images, links, and other materials you choose to save or process in the app.
• Usage & Moderation logs — to manage the platform fairly and securely, we keep track of your AI consumption counters (to enforce monthly service limits) and any content violations, including the history of warnings or account suspensions linked to your profile.
• Technical data — such as device type, operating system version, and app diagnostics needed to operate and improve the service, where permitted.

2. Supabase and hosting of your data

Kook Board uses Supabase, a third-party backend platform, to provide authentication, database storage, and related infrastructure for our services.

When you use Kook Board, certain information (including account credentials, profile status, and content you upload) is transmitted to and stored on systems operated by Supabase or its subprocessors. Supabase processes this data solely to provide the services we configure on your behalf and in accordance with their agreements and security practices.

3. Artificial Intelligence Processing (Google Gemini)

Kook Board features advanced tools designed to help you extract, parse, or improve your recipes using artificial intelligence. These features are powered by Google Gemini (via Google AI Studio).

When you use AI-driven tools within the app (such as importing a recipe from a social link, text snippet, document, or photo), the corresponding text or image content is transmitted to Google's cloud infrastructure for real-time processing and formatting.

Google processes this data as a technical service provider solely to generate the requested recipe structure. Your inputs are processed dynamically, and we do not sell or monetize your recipe data to third parties.

4. Content Moderation and Automated Controls

In order to protect our community and ensure compliance with mobile application store guidelines, Kook Board runs automated checks on newly submitted content (including text and images) to prevent spam, malicious scripts, and inappropriate or illegal material (NSFW).

If a content violation is detected, the recipe submission will be blocked. To prevent platform abuse, our system automatically tracks warnings ("strikes") and may restrict or temporarily suspend access to your account if multiple violations occur. This account-level protection logic operates under a rolling 30-day window for minor infractions, after which accumulated warnings may expire under good behavior policies.

5. Device Permissions (Camera and Storage)

Kook Board may request access to your device's camera or photo library so that you can capture or select photos to attach to your recipes, or use them with our AI parsing tools.

Media access is entirely optional. If you grant permission, images are processed and stored only as part of your recipe content and in connection with the cloud infrastructure described in this Policy. We do not use your camera for background tracking or unrelated analytical tasks. You may revoke these permissions at any time through your operating system settings.

6. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure the Kook Board service;
• Authenticate your account and sync your content across devices;
• Process and generate smart recipe layouts via our cloud AI integrations;
• Enforce account usage policies, handle automated content moderation, and prevent structural platform abuse;
• Respond to support requests and communicate important notices about the service.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal data, profile logs, and account-related details only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, or as long as your account remains active. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Data deletion. You may request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data—including all recipes, warnings history, and media assets stored in connection with your account—by contacting us at the address below. Where available, you can also initiate deletion through the account settings panel inside the Kook Board mobile app.
