• Account data — when you create or sign in to an account, we collect and process data needed for authentication. This includes, for example, your email address and unique user identifiers (such as user IDs assigned within our systems and Supabase) so we can verify your identity, link your profile to your content, and keep your account secure.
• Content you provide — including recipes, notes, images, and other materials you choose to save in the app.
• Technical data — such as device type, operating system version, and app diagnostics needed to operate and improve the service, where permitted.

2. Supabase and hosting of your data

Kook Board uses Supabase, a third-party backend platform, to provide authentication, database storage, and related infrastructure for our services.

When you use Kook Board, certain information (including account credentials and content you upload) is transmitted to and stored on systems operated by Supabase or its subprocessors. Supabase processes this data solely to provide the services we configure on your behalf and in accordance with their agreements and security practices.

We recommend reviewing Supabase's privacy documentation to understand how they handle data as a service provider. We select and configure providers that align with our privacy and security expectations.

3. Camera permission

Kook Board may request access to your device's camera so that you can capture photos to attach to your recipes (for example, pictures of finished dishes or handwritten notes).

Camera access is optional. If you grant permission, images are processed and stored only as part of your recipe content and in connection with the services described in this Policy (including storage via Supabase where applicable). We do not use the camera for unrelated purposes such as background recording or analytics of your surroundings.

You may revoke camera access at any time through your device settings; some features may be limited if permission is not granted.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure the Kook Board service;
• Authenticate your account and sync your content;
• Respond to support requests and communicate important notices about the service;
• Improve reliability, performance, and user experience, including debugging and abuse prevention where permitted by law.

5. Retention and security

We retain information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Data deletion. You may request the complete deletion of your account and all associated data—including all recipes and related content stored in connection with your account—by contacting us using the contact details in Section 8 below. Where available, you may also be able to initiate deletion through the settings in the Kook Board app; if that option is offered, we will process your request in line with this Policy and applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
